sudo -s
apt install openjdk-8-jdk
apt install openjdk-8-jre
During the installation, you will be asked for a couple of permissions (confirm it). Amazing, we did the first part of the installation
This is TLauncher which will help you run any version of Minecraft.
Enter a nickname and version you want, and click on "Install". The Launcher will download all necessary files, and will run the game (in the future, you won't need to wait for the download). And that's it, we are in the game.
Install Minecraft on Manjaro:
The installation Java on Manjaro will be different. We just run Add/Remove Software app, and in the search we enter Java. In the AUR tab, select jdk8 and install it. For more detailed instructions and if you don't know how to enable AUR support, read here. After this, you can run Minecraft on Manjaro.
Next, we run the attached file, and follow the instructions that I described above (Ubuntu).
It's all. As you can see, the installation didn't take much time, and you can now enjoy one of the most popular game in the world.
Open if there are errors. Tested on Ubuntu 19.10
[spoiler]The installation is tested on Ubuntu 19.10, but should work on versions below as well.
If you get this error: "The file '/path_to_minecraft/tlauncher_version.jar' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied from an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit."
Then open the file properties, and in the permissions tab, check the box "Allow executing file as program".
